retreat of the tinfoil hat

Unflattering Tinfoil HatI think I have pulled myself out of it - thank you everyone who sent me lovely emails and left nice comments and offers of chat. I really appreciate it, it did make a difference - I didn't spiral too far down in to the dip.

And a big and public thank you to B and to R, who made the Tin Foil Hat Man go away and were lovely. They are fab.

There is someone coming an hour or so, from Houseladder. They've driven up from Kent. I feel like I'm going on a blind date. Should one shave ones legs before someone comes to view your house? And if so, just to the knees? Or all the way up?

I have switched all the lights on - it's a grim day - and I have put a loaf of bread on to bake. I have shoved the pile of clothes that need to be put away under the duvet in the spare room and I have arranged the chest/coffee table so that it hides the moth holes in the rug. And I have lit the fire.

Wish me luck.

I'm glad things are looking brighter, even if the weather isn't matching it!

  7. Well, don't think they were that taken with it. They looked round thoroughly ... but didn't ask to look at anything again.

But hey ho. What will be, will be!

*looks sternly at Pete and removes bread out of the way of drool*

  9. Love the hat!

Good luck with the viewing, keep us informed whether smooth, stubbly or simian legs are the best way forward when it comes to selling property ;)

  11. Don't give up all hope - it doesn't do, when viewing, to appear too enthused.

Maybe you should've worn the hat...

  13. I rather like it. R says it made me look like a mechanical Heidi.

  14. OK so, as usual, I'm late to the cheering up party. As Chandira will tell you, that's normal for me. Love the hat...so very vogue. Glad to hear things are getting better.

  19. I have deleted the philosophy lesson. It was longer than my original post, which I feel is Very Bad Form.

  21. Luck luck luck luck luck!

I have lots of things crossed. This may include my fingers.

Suggestion: do not wear the foil hat when the next viewers arrive. You may just find they stay longer... ;)

  23. That's an awesome hat.

Yes, I think shaving to the knees is appropriate.
And yes, showing enthusiasm to seller is not. We were lucky, seller wasn't at our house veiwing, so I got all dizzy and giggly.. I loved it. But we saw a few we liked, with stone faces..
