happy monday

We've got an adoption meeting this morning - we've just been copying passports, driving licences, utility bills, marriage certificates and birth certificates.

Yesterday we went down to visit our new house, measure some things, examine sheds and hot water systems and generally chat to the vendor. We both really like her - she also introduced us to the next door neighbour - there is only the one - who seemed very nice.

It is very, very hot and heavy this morning. Last night's thunder doesn't seem to have helped at all.

The Lodgers were up at 5.30 to get to work at 7.30. I have just discovered a plate of half-eaten spagetti stashed in one of their cupboards. It's rather like living with Kevin and Perry, particularly since they rarely wash up.

I am miserable about Cat-Hating Neighbour. It has become more and more obvious that she is actually using the radio to attempt to harrass us - all weekend, she has been playing really loud Rock FM in to the back garden. Even when she is in the front garden. Particularly when she is in the front garden, in fact. But when she has visitors, she turns it down.

We are pursuing a policy of Non-Escalation.

I am going to answer some more questions, later on.

  1. Good luck with the meeting.
I'm glad that your new neighbour seems nice. As you've only got one it would be a shame if they were as awful as CHN.
We haven't had thunder at all here and there's only the odd wisp of cloud. Damn, I wish it would rain.
And I'm proud of your restraint when it comes to CHN - rise above it and don't lower yourself, unless it makes you feel better of course!

  3. Good luck with the adoption meeting. I can sympathise with your problems with CHN. My upstairs neighbours have not only been a right pain in the ass, they've topped it all off by giving my landlord an offer he can't refuse, so I have to move. I couldn't stand them as landlords, even if I could afford the rent increase.

  5. Cat-Hating-Neighbour will soon be HISTPRY, Baby! May she be blessed with new neighbours with a huge rotweiler which barks all day and night!

Good luck with the adoption meeting!

  7. Did you ask your new neighbor if she likes cats? EWhen she plays that musuc I would go out and dance away to it like it made me happy happy happy to hear it. Just to annoy her.

  8. I like Star's suggestion. :) It's evil.

CHN will be as nothing once you have moved. Don't let her get to you - it's her problem, clearly, and by not letting her get to you you won't have to lie on vendors' forms when you sell.... Not that I'm bitter; oh no.

  12. Good luck at your meeting. I do like Mrs. Mac's idea of the rotweiler for CHN.

    Is this drought everywhere?

  14. Best of luck with the meeting!

You should, of course, have written in "washing up" into your lodging agreement!
You don't have a leg to stand on!

  16. Yeah, Bedshaped, you're right. From now on, I'm going to have a really detailed lodger contract that says that they need to wash up every ten minutes and change their sheets every day. No music AT ALL and they have to spend all their time in their bedroom when they aren't actively cooking. That should do it :).
